Using live video as a lead magnet is one of the quickest ways to convert viewers to customers, and it’s not as hard as you think it is!

Simple Steps to Convert Viewers to Customers with Live Video

Live video is one of the quickest ways to convert viewers into customers. In a live video, you give the viewer insight into what it would be like to be one of your clients. Live video watchers can learn the ins and outs of what you do. They can see the behind the scenes of your day-to-day operations and watch you and your team (yes, get your team involved with your live videos) interact. Here are a few ways you can turn viewers into customers using live streams.

Get the Digital Product Blueprint

Nurture Your Audience

As mentioned above, giving your viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse is a great way to pique their interest, keep their attention, and keep them engaged. Your content should take them through a journey and should be about the things that interest them. When your topics are of interest to your viewers, they will be incentivized to tune in again. When they watch your videos while you are actually live, then they are more likely to like, comment, and share. That’s always a bonus for your engagement.

Be Consistent with your Live Video Show

You can’t turn viewers into customers if you go live sporadically. Going live today, abandoning your live streams for two months and then randomly returning trying to make a sale will not work! Your offer will fall flat, and it won’t feel genuine to your audience.

Go live on your platform of choice at least once a week to consistently nurture your audience. Having a consistent live show trains your audience to anticipate when you go live, so they’ll start looking forward to your live streams. The more consistent you are, the more your audience will show up – which will result in more clients and sales.

Always Provide a Call to Action

Live videos should always have a purpose. Nurture, grow your following, get more sales… you get the point.

You don’t want to go live without a purpose, because you’ll be wasting your time. If you don’t include a call to action, then you will not see the results that you’re striving to achieve. Your call to action should encourage your audience to take the next step with you. Take them from watching the live video to joining you elsewhere, using something that you own.

Here are some ideas for your call to action:

Join your list

Opt-in or Download your freebie

Invite them to have a sales conversation

Enroll in your membership program or course

Join your FB group or community

Purchase your SLO

Subscribe to your podcast

See, it’s not as hard as you thought to turn viewers into customers using live video! Really, all it takes is putting the things that I’ve mentioned to work. I personally use them in my own live videos, and I have seen the success they can have. The more you implement, the easier it will be to convert viewers to customers or clients from your live videos.

Now, put what you’ve read here to use right away. Come back and tell me how it’s going for you!

Getting the right people to watch your live videos is easier than you think. It doesn’t require FB or IG ads either! Keep reading to learn how to reach the RIGHT people with live video.

How to Reach the RIGHT People with Live Video

One concern that many entrepreneurs have about live video is that the right audience is watching their videos. They’re going live (kinda consistently), but the engagement isn’t there or their mama is the only one watching. They get discouraged because when there are few comments to engage with, they know the viewers aren’t the right audience.

Does this sound like you? Well, don’t worry because after reading this you’ll be on track to having more than just your mama watching your live videos.

Get the Digital Product Blueprint

Here are 3 things you can do to make sure you’re reaching the RIGHT people with your live videos.

Call Them In With Your Title

A surefire way to make sure you’re attracting the right people to your live video is to grab their attention in the title of your video. You can add something like, “Hey Health Coach for Busy Moms” or “Bookkeepers, Accountants and Financial Advisors do you XYZ.” When you’re specifically targeting your audience with a title, you’re calling them in.

When you’re specific with who they are, you increase your chances of getting better engagement from the right people. And that leads to them working with you.

Call Them In Before Your Live video

The best way to get the right audience to watch your live video is to promote your live stream before you go live. When you promote your live video, you’re going to tell potential viewers who the live video is for and why they should watch it. This will entice more people to watch while you’re broadcasting and on the replay.

Remember to promote to your list both a day before the broadcast and a few hours before. In ALL of those promotions, you’re going to make sure you address the right audience.

Address The Right People During the Live Video

So now you’re going live and you’ve promoted your live stream. To be sure your audience knows they’re in the right place and for your peace of mind, you’re going to address them in the beginning, middle, and end of your live video. You can say it casually like, “as a busy service provider do you ever feel this way?” Remember that your live videos are a conversation. You want to do this organically and not sound like a robot.

Your audience is out there and they are waiting to watch your live videos. Your audience needs direction on when and where to show up. Create your live video promo strategy and start implementing these tips today to call in the right people to your live videos.

Alicia created a free toolkit to help you have success with every live stream you do – and you can get it here!

Facebook Live is a bonus authority-building platform that many businesses and celebrities use to spread their message and talk to their customers. Mark Z knew that video would take over and he was right. Facebook Live is the tool to grow your audience quickly and build your authority as the go-to business in your industry. Over the years, Facebook has made improvements that help us with our live streams. Taking advantage of those improvements will help your Facebook Lives attract the right clients to you so you can make bank. Here are three tips to level up your Facebook Live streams!

3 Tips to Level Up Your Facebook Live

Facebook has really stepped it up for its content creators! One helpful feature for creators is that Facebook allows you to learn about your viewers. Knowing more about your viewers can help you continue to create easy to consume content. I don’t know about you, but I’m here for easy content creation that doesn’t take hours to put together! Nobody has time to be stuck behind their computer all day.

Get the Digital Product Blueprint

Tip 1: Check your analytics

Facebook Live analytics are the window into what your audience is doing while they watch your broadcast. Your analytics tell you:

How many viewers watched live

How many viewers watched the replay

The reach of your broadcast

How long people watched

These analytics help guide you in repurposing your live stream and targeting people with Facebook Ads. The goal is to extend the life of your Facebook Live, and you can use your analytic information to learn more about your audience so you can serve them better.

Tip 2: Add Captions

Adding captions to your Facebook Live allows people who haven’t turned on their audio to be part of the live stream, even though they haven’t clicked to watch it yet.

Captions are a great way to give access to people who are hearing impaired and want to access your content. Being inclusive is important!

Tip 3: Include Links

Now, I know you’re not doing these Facebook Lives without the endgame in mind (that would be a waste of time). Add a link in your title and in the comments of your live stream to tell your viewers where you want them to take the next step with you after your Facebook Live is over.

Include links to your:

Freebie

Calendar to schedule a sales call

Resources mentioned during your broadcast

Do you ever feel anxious before going live? Maybe you’re always forgetting something and have to pause, or you have to frantically search for something you need on your desk right before you start. Live streaming shouldn’t cause you to go into panic mode right before you hit the red button. Here are 5 best practices for setting up a live stream that will set you up for success.

5 Best Practices for Setting up a Live Stream

When I first started live streaming, I was always missing something when I was about to start my broadcast. Right before I was about to go live, I had to frantically search for my notes or something else I needed for the broadcast, and the frantic searching ended up making me late.

It was clear I didn’t have a process in place to help me show up as my best when I was going live. Being unprepared the first two or three times I went live was enough to make me not want to live stream anymore. Once I sat down and really documented what I needed to do before each broadcast, it became A LOT easier.

Get the Digital Product Blueprint

Look, sis, the best thing you can do for yourself and your nerves is to have a preparation process that sets you up to have the best live stream you can. Don’t worry though, I got you. These are my top 5 best practices for setting up a live stream.

1. Prepare Your Content & Notes Ahead of Time

For my first live streams, I would have a topic in mind but when I’d start talking I’d draw a blank or forget an important piece. With live streams, you can’t go back and edit something in like you could with a regular recorded video. I’d have to create a whole new live stream for that one important piece (which isn’t too bad because it creates for more content, but that’s not the point).

If I had prepared my content (bullet point style) ahead of time, I would’ve avoided all of that. This is why I can’t stress the importance of preparing your content ahead of time before your live stream. Preparing notes beforehand will keep you from fumbling over what to say and you won’t forget the important pieces of your topic. Plus it will give you a better chance to convert viewers to buyers (more money in the bank).

2. Get a Stabilizer For Your Camera

If you’re going live from your phone or camera (maybe even from your computer), you should invest in a stand for your phone. A stand is a must-have for you to keep viewers from getting queasy. Unless you’ve got arms of steel, your arms are going to be burning if you hold your phone or camera up for 10 minutes or more. All that shakiness will not look good on the #replay and will make viewers log off quickly. Set up your stand on an even surface that’s at a good height. Your arms will thank you!

3. Use Great lighting

Lighting is so important for any type of video, especially live streams. Whether you use natural lighting or a ring light, you want your audience to see you, your facial expressions, and the things that you’re holding, which can be really important if you’re demonstrating something. They shouldn’t have to guess what you’re doing! Lighting is another one of those things that will turn viewers off quickly. If they can’t see you, they won’t watch your video. Set up your live stream in an area where there is natural lighting or get a ring light.

4. Limit Distractions

Background noise, kids, and the dog barking can all throw you off while you’re going live. These days, it might be a little hard to limit distractions with the kids at home, so if it’s possible try to distract them! A little screen time (yes, it’s okay, and a little won’t hurt them) or a non-messy art project (no slime) while you live stream can make a world of difference. As a mom myself, I sometimes include them in the broadcast because I know my audience doesn’t mind.

Another distraction you need to avoid is your cell phone ringing. Put your phone on airplane mode if you’re using it to go live. Nothing sucks more than having a phone call come through your broadcast.

5. Hydrate or Bring Water to the Live Stream

With all of the talking you’ll be doing, you’ll want to have a bottle of water near you. There’s nothing like having a coughing fit or dry mouth to put a damper on your live stream. I always bring at least one water bottle to the live stream and it is a must-have for my setup.

Also, it’s okay to take a sip of water during your live stream. You are a human and not a robot.

Preparing for my live streams got easier when I followed the same process each time. Think about your own process and see if it’s setting you up for success. You may have to tweak yours and add a few of these practices to it!

Taking these necessary steps to prepare for your live streams will help you show up ready, prepared, and confident like a seasoned pro.

So you decided to dive in and start live-streaming – great! Now, you’re worrying about how to get people to watch. No need to worry anymore! I’ve got 3 ways to promote your live streams so people actually watch.

3 Ways to Promote Your Live Streams so People Actually Watch

Live stream view numbers can be discouraging! If you’re going live and the numbers are low or it seems like no one is watching, you feel like you’re wasting your time. You might be ready to throw in the towel on your live streams – but don’t quit just yet.

Here are 3 ways to promote your live streams so people actually watch.

Get the Digital Product Blueprint

1. Have an Attention-Grabbing Title

When you’re creating content, you need to make sure you have an attention-grabbing title for your live stream. Your live stream title is the first thing people see before they click to watch or attend live. Your title should be straight to the point and should let viewers know the topic of your livestream. Leaving people to guess what your topic is based on the title is a surefire way to get people not to watch your live stream.

2. Promote your live streams ahead of time

Promoting your live stream ahead of time plays a big role in getting people to actually watch them. Unless you have a huge following, you’ll need to promote it before you go live. Promoting your live stream beforehand will ensure you’ll get more viewers than just your mom and grandma.

There are several places to promote your live stream before you go live. Here’s the master list for beforehand promotion:

Your Social Media Accounts

Your stories

To your email list

The day before

An hour or so before your live stream

To your Facebook group

On your personal page

Your Biz Page

3. Promote your live streams after the broadcast

Now, this is the part that everyone skips. They hit “end” on the broadcast and they think that’s all they need to do. Sorry girl, but that’s far from it. You MUST do the same steps you took to promote your live stream ahead of time after your live stream ends if you want to increase your live stream views when it’s over. Most people don’t watch the actual live stream while you are going live. It is OKAY to promote your live stream after it’s finished. This is NOT overpromotion.

Bonus live stream tip!

Don’t forget about the live stream #replay viewers. Most people forget the replay viewers, but the replay viewers are the most loyal! They always share, like, and comment. Shout them out and ask them to interact with you and share your content as they watch the replay. When they share your live stream, you’ll get more eyes watching than you had before.

These tips are pretty simple, right? Once you implement this plan to promote your live streams, you’ll be sure to get more viewers to watch.

One of the easiest ways to build an audience of raving fans on social media is to use Facebook Live, and it’s very easy to show up confidently on camera whether it’s your 1st live stream or 44th time. Here are 4 tips to showing up confidently on Facebook Live.

Camera Confidence | 4 Tips to Show Up Confidently on Facebook Live

Facebook Live has been around for the last four years, and it can work for ANY entrepreneur that wants to build their authority quickly and make sales consistently. Facebook Live builds the “Know, Like, and Trust” factor between you and your audience, and it helps your audience make a quicker decision to buy from you.

You’re probably thinking that all of that sounds great and that you’d like to use Facebook Live, but the thought of pressing the “Go Live” button makes you want to puke and your pits and forehead get kinda sweaty. You may even feel like an imposter when you go live, and you question who you are to show up in front of your audience. You’re wishing you could show up confidently so that you can grow your authority and make more sales, but you know your confidence on live streams is lacking.

Listen, sis, I got you. We’ve all been there, and we all have those moments. These are my four best tips that’ll have you showing up like a boss looking confident on Facebook Live.

Get the Digital Product Blueprint

Tip 1: Practice, Practice and Practice Some More

Practicing may seem obvious, BUT it really is the best way to get comfortable and confident on camera. Remember, you’re not practicing to be perfect on camera, you’re practicing to be confident on camera.

When you practice, you’ll start to remember what you should say and begin to create your own system. You can practice by yourself by recording a video as if you were doing a Facebook Live. You can also enlist a Biz Bestie to Facetime and pretend to go live. Your Biz Bestie can give you feedback and provide you with encouragement as you gain confidence.

Tip 2: Prep Your Content

Most people sweat bullets during their Facebook Lives because they don't prepare for the live stream. They either don’t know what to say, or they wing it. These people usually wonder why their live streams aren’t converting to sales and why Facebook Lives haven’t got any easier for them. Here’s the truth: Winging it won’t cut it with the attention span of your audience.

It’s so important that you at least have a few bullet points of your content prepared. That way, you don’t stumble over your words, you confidently know what to talk about, and you stay on track. I promise you, girl, those bullet points will keep you from having dry mouth and fumbling for what to say.

Tip 3: Know Your Tech Set-Up

There are three ways you can do a Facebook Live: a cell phone, a computer or tablet, or a DSLR camera. Before you hit the go-live button, decide which one you will use, find out if it’s charged, and figure out if there are any extra steps or items you will need like cords, passwords, and/or websites.

There’s nothing like having your battery die in the middle of a Facebook Live or having someone call you on your phone because you forgot to put it on Airplane mode during a live steam. To keep yourself from fumbling or having a tech issue during your live stream, do a “tech check” on all of your tech parts at least 30 minutes prior to the stream. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

Tip 4: Keep It Conversational

Facebook Lives aren’t college lectures. This isn’t a Bueller situation and you’re not trying to bore anyone to death. If you’re robotic or stiff, you’ll have your audience scrolling past your Facebook Live. Remember that your Facebook Lives should be fun because you’re talking about something you love: YOUR BUSINESS.

The best way to keep the broadcast conversational is to do it as if you’re talking to a group of your friends. When you keep the live streams conversational, your vibe is high and the audience is more likely to engage (share), and comment (which is always a confidence boost right?).

Remember, Facebook Live can and should be fun for you. Sure, you’ll start off a little rocky in the beginning, but the more you practice and do live streams, the more confident you will become on camera.
