MY WORK-FROM-HOME ROUTINE in 2020 | How I'm getting it all done when the world is upside-down

Are you ready to hear about my work-from-home routine in 2020? I've got kids home full-time and I'm still getting it done and being productive. DUDE! It's BANANAS how much different our lives are right now and I know that it's crazy freakin' hard to create a routine and actually be productive during this crazy time of the unknowns and the crazy things happening in the world.

Our lives are SO DIFFERENT right now than they’ve ever been, and it’s crazy hard to create a routine and actually be productive during all the crazy things happening in the world. Today, I’m walking you through through a day in my life to show you what my work-from-home routine looks like in a typical day… and hopefully give you some encouragement, too.

My day usually starts around 9:00. The first few hours of the day are dedicated to getting myself ready, getting a workout in, and getting my kids settled in their homeschool routine. It’s a delicate balance for sure.

Then, if I haven’t had a chance to do it the night before, I sit down with a calendar and plan out my day.

On my agenda for today… Recording three podcasts, hopping on a Zoom meeting with a committee at the Chamber of Commerce, creating and uploading a new mini course and a sales page for it, and doing some social media stuff. It’s a pretty busy one! Come along for the ride!

First thing’s first – posting an Instagram story to remind people about the new podcast episode! I try to batch record my podcasts and record episodes 3-4 weeks ahead in case something crazy happens!

Mondays are my recording days right now. Since the podcast is a solo show, I have to be intentional about making time to record it! I also film any videos I need to get done on Mondays.

I have all of the topics for the podcast episodes I’m going to record and when they go live in Clickup, but I like to add bullet points of what I’m going to talk about before I record so it’s easy to record.

Now, time to record my podcast about how to measure your business growth!

As a business owner, I make sure that I’m not a bottleneck in my own company! Sometimes that means supporting the people who work in my company before I get my own to-do list done.

After putting out some fires (metaphorically speaking) and recording another podcast episode, I posted on Instagram and then hopped on a quick Zoom meeting with the Chamber of Commerce.

Then, it was lunchtime for my kids and I! I answered comments on my Instagram post while I ate my lunch.

My dad came over to play with my kids for awhile, and I decided I didn’t actually have enough time to dive into the course I wanted to do… so, I recorded my weekly IGTV!

After my husband came home, I decided to take a walk by myself to unwind and destress. (If you didn’t know, I live on a farm… and I pass a lot of neighborhood cows on the walk!)

Listen, here's the reality during this crazy time: everyone’s daily routine is different based on what’s going on in your life! Even in my routine, every day looks different – and I love it. But if you love structure, then stick with structure! Figure out the routine that works best for you and stick to it.

I hope you enjoyed learning more about my day!
