How to set and track goals for the New Year
Merry Christmas! While I’m face-down in some mashed potatoes and watching my kids receive WAY TOO MANY toys, I thought it’d be nice to let y’all in on some ways you can set and track goals so that you actually achieve them in the long run.
How to set and track goals.
There is literally no right and wrong when it comes to how you set goals and how you track them – the ONLY right way is the one that works for you, but, we don’t always know what works for us, so Imma gonna talk about that for a minute today.
If you’d rather watch this post than read it, here’s your chance.
There are 3 main ways you can lay out all of your goals and keep them top-of-mind:
- Digital tools like Trello & Asana. You can use tools like Trello and Asana to set your goals, give them a date, break them down into smaller tasks and easily course-correct. This is MY personal favorite way to set and track goals (which is why it’s #1, because I make the rules, teehee).
- Vision Board. Create a vision board (clip some newspapers or pin things on Pinterest) that encompasses the things you visualize in alignment with your goals. Want a new car? Glue a car on that puppy. Want to increase your income? Pin a dollar to it.
- Goal planning sheets. Tools like Powersheets from Cultivate What Matters are made for EXACTLY this and if you’re a paper planning kinda person, this might be something you want to do!
Goals setting doesn’t have to be complicated OR one-size-fits-all. Do what works for you and make sure it’s a way you can keep up with on a regular basis!
