Update: The content below is now not necessarily relevant and you can simply integrate your ConvertKit account with LeadPages in the LeadBox settings. I plan to leave this post active because the SEO is on point but you totally don't need it anymore.

So, these are two of my favorite online business tools and I was so irritated that they didn't play nice with each other BUT there are work-arounds to make ConvertKit connect with Leadpages so you can rock your email list like a b.o.s.s.

And, by-the-way, if you listen to some early episode of my podcast, you know that I was sort of a Leadpages “hater”, ha! I was annoyed that anybody would use them to create sales pages when their designer could do it for them. Well, I'm a lover of them now and even use them myself AS a web designer.

If you want to WATCH this tutorial instead of reading about it, you can do that on my YouTube channel.

The first thing I want to talk about is how to connect the two using a hack that Convertkit has released on their site.

Please remember, this is not a tutorial to teach you how to use Leadpages or Convertkit, just connect the two together, so I have skimmed over some details that you should know if you're already a user of either.

Basically, you'll choose a Leadpages template and click on the button where you want to have a Leadbox pop-up where your viewer will enter their information to get on your list.

Once you've clicked that button the Leadbox customizer will pop up (above) and want you to configure the Integration settings.

You'll switch the “integrate form with:” from “lead notifications” to “other”.

Then you'll go to Convertkit and grab the embed code for the form you're wanting people to sign-up to.

Then paste that code into the HTML box inside of Leadpages right under where you just selected “other”.

And then go on to customize your Leadbox as normal.

That is honestly IT to connecting the two together normally.

But…then there's a problem.

With Leadpages' new drag-and-drop feature, they've completely removed the “other” from the Integration settings, erg.

[all of the screenshots below are showing you inside of the drag-and-drop how when you go in the customize the Leadbox that the ‘other' option is no longer there]

Ok, so, yeah, that sucks.

But there's a way around it!

Go ahead, in the drag-and-drop builder and just delete the button that's currently there hooked to a Leadbox.

Now, go to your widgets and drag an HTML widget over where that subscribe button was.

Ok, NOW, open a new tab or window and login to Leadpages there as well.

But, this time, go into your LeadBOXES tab and create a new LeadBox.

You'll then be able to do the exact same thing you did in the first part of this post, you'll just copy and paste the embed code from ConvertKit into the integration settings box under “other” and customize your Leadbox to look exactly like you want it to look to the viewer (refer to the top of this post).

Now, name it, save it and click PUBLISH.

And then, inside of the publish screen choose the option that says “BUTTON”.

You can make the button look how you want (to an extent) by changing the text that displays, the color and text color and whether it's got rounded edges or a shadow.

When you're done customizing, click inside of the “publish above as HTML code” box and select all of that code.

Now, go back into your tab/window where you're working on the actual Drag-and-Drop Leadpage and click on the HTML block you just dragged to replace the button that was there.

A black box will pop up, paste all of the code you just copied from the Leadbox and put it into that black box.

Pro tip: If you'll insert <center> before the HTML code and </center> right after it, it'll center your button.

Now, save that, save your page and hit “preview” and you'll be able to see the button from your Leadbox show up inside of your Leadpage.

Now you're all set!
