You’re NOT doing everything you SHOULD BE DOING to grow on YouTube
If you are trying to grow a YouTube channel, I can promise you that you're NOT doing everything you should be doing to grow on YouTube. Not even 20% of it, probably. You may think you are but you’re not.
You’re NOT doing everything you SHOULD BE DOING to grow on YouTube

Want to watch the video version of this post? I’ve got you covered!
You’ve heard me and everybody else in the digital marketing space talk about the Clubhouse app. I had a conversation on Clubhouse about this topic, and I want to share it with you all!
(If you have no idea what Clubhouse is, I just did a whole podcast episode on it – listen to it right here)
I was in a Clubhouse room all about YouTube, and a young girl came up to the stage to ask a question. She said, “I feel like I’m doing everything you said to do, but my YouTube channel isn’t growing.”
That’s a pretty common feeling with any platform. But I promise you that you are NEVER doing everything you should be doing to grow on YouTube. No one is – really. I am four years into YouTube, I teach YouTube strategies, and I am STILL not doing everything I need to do.
Immediately after that person asked the question, I went and looked at their channel. And there was definitely work to be done on their thumbnails, titles, content, the homepage… all the things. She still needed work in those areas, but she felt like she was doing everything we recommended.
If you’ve ever thought that you’re doing everything right but your channel isn’t growing, this is a message from the universe to you: you’re NOT doing everything you should be doing to grow on YouTube!
And if you’ve ever had that feeling, then I have a few pieces of advice to share with you. Here are some things you can possibly do to increase your growth on YouTube. And the #1 piece of advice I have is to understand that you aren’t doing everything you should be doing to grow on YouTube! You don’t know everything. And you need to listen to other creators, take constructive criticism, and then take ACTION on that criticism.
There’s a difference in people who listen but don’t act, and people who actually take action after hearing something you can be doing.
How to seek out advice from other creators:
1. Watch creators who talk about how to grow on YouTube and take action on the free tips that they give you!
Don’t just watch one video and send them an “I need help” message on Instagram. I have thousands of hours of free content that talks about TONS of things you should do to grow on YouTube. Use it!
2. Save up your money to purchase a course from an expert!
If you are looking to grow on any platform, there’s a course for that. Knowledge is power, and investing in knowledge will help you grow. Courses have the added benefit of putting everything you need to do IN ORDER, which doesn’t happen with free content.
(I have a super robust course called YouTube Rockstars that can definitely help you grow, especially if you’ve been on YouTube for awhile. If you’re just getting started, I also have a recently revamped YouTube Starter Toolkit that would be PERFECT for you!)
3. Get someone to critique your channel!
I have seen people do channel critiques for free or for a fee. Once you have someone audit your channel, you HAVE to put in the work that they recommend to see results.
The point is – you’re not doing everything you should be doing to grow on YouTube.
You can remedy that feeling by paying for coaching, seeking out and taking action on free content, grabbing a course, or even getting a channel critique. Even the experts probably aren’t doing everything they should be doing to grow on YouTube – I can promise that you aren’t, either.
The biggest thing here is that you have to TAKE ACTION. You can't sit back, listen to advice, and then not take it.
