1. Forget About AdSense (For Now)
First and foremost, stop obsessing over AdSense revenue. Many new creators think this will be their primary income source, but it often isn’t enough. The reality is that you need substantial views and a high CPM (cost per thousand views) to earn significant money from ads alone. Think of AdSense as more like icing on the cake rather than the main course.
To put things into perspective: you can make $84,000 from AdSense in one of your best years, but even then, that's with millions of views. If you’re counting solely on AdSense, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment.
2. Niche Down Strategically
Next up: niching. This isn’t just about picking a topic; it’s about identifying your target audience. Ask yourself, “Who am I creating content for?”
For example, instead of just creating general productivity content, focus on “productivity tips for busy moms” or “productivity hacks for freelancers.” This helps YouTube's algorithm understand who to show your content to, making it easier to grow your audience.
3. Create Your Own Products
Want to reach that six-figure mark? Focus on your own products and multiple streams of income. Don’t rely solely on brand deals or AdSense revenue, especially when you’re starting out. Create digital products, online courses, or even merchandise that your audience will love. Diversifying your income streams is crucial!

5. Quality Over Equipment
Lastly, let’s talk about equipment. While having good quality video and audio can enhance your content, it’s not the most critical factor in your success. Focus on the content itself, your messaging, and connecting with your audience. Your smartphone camera is often sufficient for creating engaging videos.
If you’re sitting there wishing you could be a successful YouTuber, I’m here to tell you that you can! But it’s time to change your mindset. Instead of worrying about how to grow your subscriber count or chasing AdSense revenue, focus on creating valuable content, identifying your niche, and developing your own products.
You have the power to become a 6-figure YouTuber—now go out there and make it happen!
